Yamaha Back in WorldSSP in 2017

Tuesday, 21 June 2016 11:31 GMT

SPEEDWEEK.com is reporting that Yamaha are set to return to the WorldSSP grid with a factory effort from 2017, as the Japanese marque prepares to launch an all-new R6. Originally planned for 2016 before being slightly delayed, there are no details yet on who will ride the machine – or who will make up the team - but technical support could be supplied by Yamaha Motor Europe rather than any Japanese involvement as is seen in MotoGP, with an arrangement following the model of the current official Yamaha entrants in WorldSBK and STK1000.
